FESTIVALS AND CELEBRATIONS

HINDI PAKHWADA:   Air Force School Jammu celebrated Hindi Pakhwara from 9th to 13th September 2024 exclusively during the morning assemblies. The week featured a series of engaging activities, including speeches, poem recitations, humorous deliveries, and a pledge by students from various classes. These activities encouraged active participation from the entire school.



TEACHERS DAY:  students presented colorful program to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr.S.Radhakrishanan. Students of class XI and XII presented a colourful show in the school premises. All teachers were presented a gift from the management.
 




JANAMASHTAMI:  was celebrated with great religious fervor and gusto in the Nursery wing. Songs, bhajans, dance depicting life and philosophy of Lord Krishna, Radha and other characters related to Lord Krishna’s life history mesmerised all present. The students from junior classes were dressed in lord Krishna and Radha's attire adding charm to the programme. 
 



INDEPENDENCE DAY:    On 13th August 2024, Air Force School Jammu celebrated the 77th Independence Day, commemorating India's historic freedom, which is traditionally celebrated on 15th August. The event began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal, Ms. Shuchi Gupta, symbolizing the nation's pride and unity.Principal delivered a brief yet impactful speech, encouraging students to reflect on the true meaning of freedom and instilling a sense of national pride. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

VANMAHOTSAV  was carried out in the school premises in the first week of July. Children planted various saplings in the school.
 



 

LABOUR DAY: 
Labour day is celebrated with the aim of raising the voices of workers around the world to honour the working class and commemorate their struggles for fair wages and better working conditions.The day is recognized across the world on I st May .
 


 

EARTH DAY: 
Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earths natural resources for future generations. Earth Day is celebrated on 22 April at AFS.
 


 

BAISAKHI Baisakhi is a significant festival that celebrates the birth of the Khalsa and the spirit of courage, sacrifice, and selflessness that it embodies. In addition to religious observances, Baisakhi is also a time for people to enjoy various cultural activities, such as music and dance performances, fairs, and feasts. AFS Jammu celebrated Baisakhi with great religious fervor.
 


 

EID CELEBRATION ‘The richness and depth of celebrations express a culture accurately.’
Celebrating events and festivals in school has become an integral part of learning and building a strong cultural belief. Such celebrations bring the students closer to each other’s tradition and cultural beliefs and develop respect and understanding for each other’s customs and traditions. The students of AFS celebrated the festival of Eid with great enthusiasm.
 


 

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice originated in India. To mark the international yoga day on 21st June, the students and teachers of AFS Jammu participated in yoga session organized by the Air force station.
 


 

FAREWELL 
Farewell is organized each year to bid adieu to class 12 students and wish them well in future endeavours and also to motivate them. The title of Mr. and Ms. Air force School Jammu was presented to the winners along with a bouquet.
 



SPORTS DAY: 
 was celebrated in the month of November. Many activities were the part of this day like March past, Athletic events, Aerobics, karate and Zumba. Students participated in this event with great enthusiasm.

CHRISTMAS  : The festival of joy was celebrated in the nursery wing of the school. Toddlers came dressed up as Santa and fairies. The atmosphere of merriment marked the entire celebration.
