EXAMINATIONS 2025-26
The CBSE exam pattern, however, has changed. For CBSE class 12
board exams 2025, question papers would comprise 20% MCQs or
objective questions. 30% would be competency-based questions. The
remaining 50% would constitute the subjective or short/long answer
questions. As per the scheme of Examinations the school conducts unit
tests, Half yearly and Annual examination from time to time for all
classes. The school conducts two Preboards for classes X and XII (one
at school level and the other from the command level).
New Policy – CBSE Class X Board Examinations 2026
CBSE Class 10 Board Examinations from 2026 will be conducted twice a year, in alignment with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- Two Phases – February (Compulsory) & May (Optional):
The February examination will be the main and mandatory board exam for all students. The May exam will be held for those students who wish to improve their scores or have failed in up to three subjects.
- Better Score Will Be Considered:
Among the two attempts, the higher score in each subject will be counted in the final marksheet. This provides students with a valuable second chance without any academic penalty.
- Flexibility in Evaluation:
Internal assessment will be conducted only once, before the first (February) exam. Students who either fail or want to improve their scores can appear in May. Special provisions will be made for students from winter-bound schools, CWSN (Children with Special Needs), and those engaged in national/international level sports or competitions.
- Result Schedule:
The result of the February exam will be declared by April 2026.
The result of the May exam will be released by June 2026.
- Objective:
The core aim of this reform is to reduce exam stress and pressure, and to offer a second opportunity within the same academic session so that students can perform to their full potential.
This new approach by CBSE encourages students to focus on consistent learning, provides multiple opportunities, and supports the development of a stress-free, flexible examination system.
